Ways with Water
LAKESIDE - Recent pastel, done in the studio, of one of the most inspiring settings that's been a part of my life: along side the shoreline of Lake Mohawk, in Sparta-Lake Mohawk, N.J.
This is a unique Bavarian-style community in the mountains, with chalet homes mimicking Old Word architecture; sprawling, breath-taking lake-fronts; and quirky, charming mountain chalets - like the first home of my daughter and son-in-law. I'm so glad to have taken a million photos there, because this peaceful beauty never gets old.
And the history of this community is also quite interesting.

Sponge Docks from Dolphin Boat
The name says it all - my daughter and I were on a dolphin cruise and I took this photo when we were coming back in toward the docks. Sponge diving is a way of life down here; it's a huge part of the history and culture. Check out the oldie (but goodie) "Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef." Then you'll know it all.

Street Music
The beautiful Greek lady was playing her harp on the sidewalk by Dodecanese Boulevard, along the Sponge Docks. I couldn't wait to get home and paint this one (done on Mi Tienes art board in earth red). There is no shortage of beautiful Greeks in Tarpon Springs. (OK, there's no water in this one. But she was along the docks!)
